PRIVACY FENCING

Even if you live in a quiet neighborhood, you may want to have some built in privacy while you enjoy your own backyard. And you don’t have to sacrifice curb appeal. Privacy fences come in a variety of materials and are generally defined as fencing between 4 and 6 feet tall with a solid infill (meaning no see-through gaps). It is often used to effectively contain small children and pets in your outdoor space while providing a barrier to wild animals and other potential intruders.

NOTE: Before installing privacy fences or privacy screens, contact the local zoning departments or homeowners’ associations to learn if there are any restrictions on height or other specifications. You may need to have your property surveyed, and as a courtesy, you may want to mention your plans to neighbors with whom you share the property line.
